Edicom Certification Authority

The Edicom Certification Authority provides companies, communities and physical persons with secure electronic identification mechanisms that enable them to engage in activities where the digital signature replaces the handwritten with identical legal guarantees. To this end, ACEDICOM issues certificates in accordance with the stipulations of Directive 1999/93/EC of 13th December 1999 and Law 59/2003 of 19th December, on electronic signature, and so has sufficient recognition to operate in all countries of the European Union. The Edicom CA is responsible for obtaining the corresponding official authorisation in those places outside the Union where it operates commercially.

Edicom is constituted as a Certification Authority with the aim of providing clients with the identification elements specific to the activity to be carried out, avoiding general certificates and guaranteeing the fulfilment of legality in its strictest interpretation, as in the case of the secure devices, which are authorised by the CWA 14169 certification.

ACEDICOM issues qualified certificates to be used on secure devices, as well as qualified certificates based on software.

Digital certification is, without a doubt, the most suitable mechanism to take advantage of Information Society opportunities in total confidence and security. Security is one of the key elements in this new digital culture and digital certification its maximum defender.
